The fawn dress is inspired by my wintry home in Minnesota. As a family we gather around the fireplace in the living room every evening to take a little break before dinner. As we gather together around the fire to talk and laugh the deer do the same right outside the window. I love to watch the timid little fawns step out from the tree line into the open snow covered yard.
I finished A's coat. It turned out perfectly. I think she is going to love it or at least I hope she does. I have added it to my shop as well so your favorite little girl can have one too! I also expanded the available sizes : 1T-12. But if you really want one for yourself we can talk about it. Mr. R thinks I should make a matching one for Grandma.
The cut of this little coat is perfect. It swings and sways with every movement. The fabric is from the Amy Butler line Love. It is reversible so depending on the little ladies mood she can wear it either way.
I have plans to do more coats in the future. I have sketches for a cute stripped navy blue one with big red buttons. Can't wait to get sewing!
The pattern is by another extremely talented Etsy seller, Whole Grain Baby. I just can not get enough of her designs. She also did the pattern for this dress and this dress in my shop. I am excited to get moving on this coat. I will be hitting the fabric shop tomorrow. I am thinking blues, greens, and pinks.
I am not one of those clean freak type, who really enjoys cleaning and the smell of pine sol. Mark can attest to that. No, I am talking more about a blank slate. A place just begging to be cluttered with all of your creations and ideas. The desk, it is calling to you, "come sit at me create something new and exciting."
On another note ... I am sooooo excited because I am leaving for Italy tomorrow. I hope to get lots of ideas for more future projects. I love European kids clothes. They also seam so much more sophisticated. I will be back in a couple of weeks with photos to share.
I have a lot of work to do considering I leave for Italy on the 4th. I better get moving.
So the deal is I am going to make them each a dress and Michelle is going to photograph them. I can't wait. I am off the buy fabric.
